School Readiness In the Kirrawee

Our Kirrawee Preschool Program is thoughtfully designed to prepare children for a smooth, confident transition to primary school. We focus on building strong foundations in early literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and social skills through hands-on, play-based learning. Children develop independence, resilience, and the ability to follow routines—key skills they will need for the classroom. Our educators work closely with families and local schools to ensure every child leaves Kirrawee feeling capable, confident, and excited for the next stage of their learning journey.

Our Facilities

The Kirrawee preschool environment is designed to feel familiar to school while keeping playfulness and creativity at the heart of learning. Spaces include areas for writing, reading, numeracy, STEM, construction, group work, and imaginative play.

Resources are organised to encourage independence and responsibility, helping children practise routines they will see at school. Outdoor areas provide opportunities for movement, teamwork, nature exploration, and problem-solving. Every part of the room supports confidence, autonomy, and readiness for formal learning.

Safety and Security

Predictable routines and caring relationships help children feel safe and confident in Kirrawee. Educators guide cooperation, turn-taking, and problem-solving while supervising more complex activities.

We prioritise safety and emotional well-being, helping children understand feelings, try new things, and build resilience. With gentle support, they explore independently and develop the skills needed for school and social settings. Learning is safe, joyful, and confidence-building.

What We Do and How We Do It

The preschool program combines engaging play with intentional learning experiences. Children take part in literacy and numeracy sessions, science experiments, group projects, creative arts, and activities that build independence and critical thinking.

Educators guide discussions, encourage questions, and support children as they explore ideas with confidence. Emphasis on teamwork, communication, and problem-solving helps children prepare for school success. Purposeful routines and joyful learning experiences build skills, confidence, and curiosity for the next step in their education.

Food and Cultural Inclusiveness

Children enjoy food experiences that build independence, healthy habits, and social skills. Helping unpack their food and manage containers boosts confidence. All dietary needs and family traditions are respected, and calm routines make mealtimes positive and inclusive.

My son has been really worried about moving to kindergarten next year, but the staff in Kirrawee has been really helpful supporting him and now, it’s like he’s ready to take on the world!

Rarely have I seen a child excited to go to preschool, but somehow here my twins do. It’s a shock to me and my husband but they love coming here, with all the activities they do and hanging out with all their little friends. It’s clear that the staff here has really done their best in order to create a friendly, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

Very impressed with this childcare centre, super helpful, and taught my 5 year old child everything she needs to know for primary school.
