Hands on – play-based learning

JOIN OUR WAITING LIST

At our Leppington Childcare Centre, we embrace a play-based learning approach that is closely aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – Australia’s national framework for early childhood education.

Building skills through play

We believe children learn best through play. By engaging in hands-on experiences, they naturally build important skills in:

  • Fine and gross motor development
  • Social and emotional wellbeing
  • Thinking, problem-solving and creativity

We encourage children to wonder and investigate

Through exciting STEM activities and exploration of the natural environment, we encourage children to wonder, investigate, and make sense of the world around them — laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Children are unique, capable and involved learners

Our philosophy is based on the belief that all children are unique, capable and involved learners who make a valuable contribution to their community.

  • We believe children have the right to loving relationships, respect, care and education in an environment that is safe and free from discrimination.

  • We believe that early childhood is a vital stage in human development and lays the foundation for future learning.
  • We believe young children do learn through their play experiences. We endeavour to meet the needs of children’s natural curiosity by providing opportunities for them to experiment, discover, solve problems and find out about themselves, other people and the world around them.

  • We believe that each child comes to the Centre with a different set of experiences, knowledge and interests and we seek to build on each child’s home experience and acknowledge the range of diverse lifestyles of all families.

  • We actively promote and encourage strong partnerships with families as this creates a wonderful sense of belonging that is vital to the learning environment of our children.

Our programs are responsive to this and are tailored to each child’s needs and level of development. These programs reflect the principles and practices of the National Early Years Learning Framework.

  • We believe in the process of continually improving the care and education we provide at Spring Farm Early Learning Centre so we can provide the highest quality service for our families.

This is done through the on-going process of reflection and review in collaboration with our families and staff.

From a Parent Already Enrolled for Opening

"We chose Leppington Childcare Centre before it even opened because we already knew the Director’s incredible dedication. She cared for our older child at her previous centre, and the love and commitment she showed our family was unforgettable. Knowing she is opening a new service made the decision easy for us. We trust her completely and cannot wait for our youngest to begin their journey in such a warm, beautifully led environment."

From a Long-Term Family

"We’ve had the privilege of having our children cared for by the Director at her previous centre, and we can confidently say she leads with unmatched love, passion, and commitment. The way she knows every child, every family, and every little detail makes you feel truly supported. We are so excited to see this same level of care brought to Leppington Childcare Centre. There is no one we would trust more with our children’s early years."
